Embroidery 101 with April Green

Have an embroidery machine now what?!?  Come take part in workshops, demos and structured lessons.  A specific project is not planned for these days, so we encourage you to bring your own project to work on.  A class reference notebook will be provided for you to take notes, store any handouts and other resources that may be provided. 

Supplies needed for this course:

• Embroidery machine
• Hoops
• Stabilizers (Notions)
• Designs
• Project(s)
• Basic Sewing supplies (scissors, thread, etc)
• Embroidery kit (OESD Scissor Kit 5pc or similar)
• Ruler
• Rotary Cutter

Listed below is the sample schedule of the demos, workshops and structured lessons for the week:  

DAY 1: 

- Software:  How and where do I get it?  How to use the thumb drive on my machine.
- Stabilizers: What type of stabilizer do I use and when is it used?

DAY 2:

- Hoops: What size and type of hoop
- Needles: What size and type of needle should I use and when do I use it?

DAY 3: 

- Thread: brands, types, weights and colors
- Basic trouble shooting for the most common problem and issues that you may run into on your embroidery machine

DAY 4:

- Recap and Q&A from days 1-3
- Free sew day to finish any projects you have

- quilting with your embroidery machine
- applique
