Beachcomber Jacket Class (Part 1)
Transform a basic sweatshirt into a stunning, one-of-a-kind wearable piece of art! In this hands-on class, you will learn how to design, piece, and assemble a cozy quilted jacket using the Beachcomber Jacket Pattern. This is part one of a two-part class. The focus for part one is to determine fabric placement, cut everything out and prepare it to be sewn (which will take place in Part 2).
Supplies needed for this course:
- Beachcomber Jacket Pattern
- 30 Fat eighths (9" x 20") of multi-color fabric if you want a scrappy look
- For a more structured look- find 3 or 4 focal prints and add about 15 other fat eighths or fat quarters
- Crew neck sweatshirt (we recommend you size up)
- 2 1/2 yards of lining (not required but it finishes out the jacket nicely)
- 1/4 yard of coordinating fabric for binding
- thread to match your fabric
- cutting mat
- ruler for squaring blocks
- Rotary Cutter
- Flatter or Best Press
- Straight Pins
- Scissors
- Gallon size bags
- Sewing machine
